The Direct is not only an attractive piece of fine furniture, but is an extremely natural sounding, efficient, direct radiating high-end
speaker system. It is also one of the few speaker systems this is capable of reproducing the entire audio spectrum 20-20,000 Hz (Human hearing range) at soft through loud sound pressure
levels. Reproducing the extreme low frequencies (below 35Hz) and extreme high frequencies (above 15,000 Hz) is complex and expensive. The extreme ranges have a vast amount of beautiful and exciting sound and musical material. Most of today's speaker systems have a narrow or limited frequency response (bandwidth) and many also break up, mis-track, bottom out, etc. at concert halls sound pressure levels. Thus they fall quite short of the necessary above range. Reproducing real life performances and digital source material is going to be incomplete and much of the recording information inaccessible for most speaker systems. The Direct's performance should be fulfilling even for the demanding individual who is a serious listener.
